International Business Machines pushes for transparent development in enterprise AI

At the technology summit, IBM's Cox delivered a compelling argument for collaborative development in corporate machine learning. Cox, Vice President of AI models and head at the MIT-IBM Watson AI Lab, stressed the importance of transparency in innovation, particularly in the present AI landscape.
The IBM executive emphasized the multifaceted nature of transparency in machine learning, challenging the simplistic perception of the idea. He observed the burgeoning ecosystem of open models from diverse origins, including technology corporations, research centers, and governments.
Nonetheless, he articulated reservations about the standard of accessibility in various AI language systems, pointing out that a number of them deliver little more than a "bag of numbers" without openness in their creation techniques.
